John & Lynne Conroy

John sold his first Mercedes while working for Gus McClure Autos in Buranda in 1973. A 1971 Mercedes Benz 280SE 3.5 - and has been hooked on Mercedes ever since.

John worked at Centenary Motors as General Manager in the early 1980’s and then at Motorama Greenslopes selling second hand Mercedes Benz.

We bought Oasis Car Sales in Sunnybank in 1987. In 1988, the business became Oasis Prestige Cars and continued trading until 1998 when the business was sold, due to a golfing accident.

In 2000 we re-opened in Fortitude Valley as John Conroy Prestige Cars and traded until 2008 – having to leave our premises due to the property being re-developed. The business and name were taken over by Darren Rudkin (CBD Prestige Cars Pty Ltd) until February 2010.

From March 1st 2010, John and Lynne resumed the business at 194 Breakfast Creek Road, Newstead and traded as John Conroy Classic Cars.

On 12th September, 2011 we moved to 127-131 Breakfast Creek Road, Newstead (on the corner of Maud Street).
